Model mock up.
I have an IR low wattage cutting laser from ebay that is in this very standard 15 mm housing, which I don't find here, so I modeled one.

they are used for high power resistors or other stuff that gets hot.
i dont think replacing it by a plastic housing is a good idea, it wont cool the part and maybe even melt.

It took 6 weeks to get it, and i havn't even turned it on yet, until I get eye protection, but its the size of a USB drive. I am designing a head mount for it and a fan.
