Mechanicat
Description
I wanted to get back into the swing of designing mechanical things from solely laser cut parts and, as I just got myself a nice 60Watt laser, I thought it would be nice to cut myself a little mechanical cat. It stands about 3" high, is made out of super friendly .125" pressboard, and features the distinctive face of the Internet Defense League's cat signal { internetdefenseleague.org/ }.
Instructions
This cat is made of Laserbits .125" pressboard { laserbits.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=82_352&products_id=980 } and is fastened together using .5" and 1" 6/32 screws, nuts, and washers. Just cut the plans on your favorite laser, assemble, and enjoy hours of mechanical cuteness.
Play with adding washers in between the different cut pieces to get everything to move without snagging. I ended up stacking two washers together in a few places to make sure I could pose the cat without any screws knocking against each other.
