I was playing around in Alibre Design and came up with this thing. I think it might be an eyeball monster. I\'ve included small and big version STLs as well.

I tried to color part of the eye using a blue sharpie but it bled horizontally because of the layers. So I ended up just coloring the whole thing :). Maybe paint would work better?

Small   37.5mm x 34.0mm x 47.1mm tall
Regular 50.0mm x 45.3mm x 62.8mm tall
Large   75.0mm x 67.0mm x 94.1mm tall

I have a suggestion. I wanted to put a googly eye on this creature, but the rounded eyeball prevents me from gluing it on properly. I don't think it would be very hard to make a version that has a flat spot for a googly eye, and I don't feel it's necessary to make a new page for such a minor change.

I have made a few of these guys, and they become much creepier when they don't turn out (the printer fails for some reason).

I got my printer working now! It doesn't have an extruder, but it's all running. The odd thing, (I am using RepSnapper) is that it just tries to go straight up forever (I think). What's it trying to do, print from the top down? =-O

You should really change the name to "Strange Octopus." It looks really great! It will be one of the first things I print when I get my RepRap Finished.

I'm glad you like it! Good luck with the RepRap, I look forward to seeing your prints!

It is not quite an octopus since it only has six legs ;). But maybe that makes "Strange Octopus" even stranger. I like naming things "Thing#" because it saves me the trouble of thinking of names, so thank you for suggesting one!

Now I need to print a family of these things. :)

Awesome colors! Your family looks great :).

Cool design. Looks organic.
