What type of fiber optic interfacing are you using? How much control do you have over the laser in terms of arbitrary wavelength and/or simple PWM control over the laser from the BeagleBone?
Using TOSlink connectors and cables. Accepts TTL signal at 115Kb/s to 3Mbt/s. Fixed wavelength @ ~650nm
