Tri-bladed boomerang
Description
The forward sweep of the wings is a bit too extreme, so honestly, this guy doesn't fly very well.
If you want to get started throwing boomerangs, I recommend my other models at thingiverse.com/thing:28662 and thingiverse.com/thing:10188, which are easier to handle.
For experienced throwers: this boomerang behaves pretty much like a fast-catch. The shape of the wings is a little too extreme, though.
I think your best bet is to throw low, hard and without any layover. Add some positive dihedral to the wings if it dives into the ground three quarters into the turn.

your rangs look like they should work well. what 3D modeling software do you use? I'd like to try designing one but not sure what would be a good modeler for complicated curved surfaces.
If you print the first layer, you could add a couple of pieces of "blue tape" to make a rough bridge for the middle, then it would print OK.
Printed it, it seemed to curve like a boomerang should, but then hit a brick wall in 40 ft. Now it's a tripiece triblade boomerang. Need some PLA glue, code blue, stat.
Nice, but the 3 wings of the blade are lower than the middle, so it makes printing difficult since there is nothing to "bridge" to for the first layer. If you have an island in the middle, or can make the lower side flatter, it can be printed successfully.

Hi Sonny, thanks. I used Blender for this. There is a tutorial at http://www.cs75.de/3dprint/ .
thanks Chris!
