Robotic Claw by guibot Sep 23, 2012

Description

This is a first experiment on building a 3D printed robotic claw, I first got inspired by this (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18339) project but it was designed for a micro servo, and I wanted to use a standard size servo so I had to design the claw from scratch.
The actual design still need one tweak or two to be optimized for 3D printing, but as it is now is fully functional.

the g code is going to be slightly different for each printer. what slicing program do you use? Have you considered a different one?

haven't seen the update. I tried posting ours with the game-specific changes we made. What file format can I upload images? it didn't take the .stl

Our servo horns screwed right in. we use hitech deluxe HS-485HSB

My FTC students are looking to use this as part of their robot. We're in the process of modifying it to better fit the competition. It works well with the servo as is.

glad to know that you will be using this claw, I have a newer and optimised version if you would like to take a look, I will post it right away

Would it be possible to have 2 stls for each side of the gripper?

I presume the yellow is glue to stick it on the servo horn?

the yellow is abs from the raft...  as I say in the post, this object is not fully optimized for 3dprintin, it has some mesh mistakes
