So I was tired of putting my iPhone in the cup holder, and it moving around all over the place while driving. I decided to make a dock. What I ended up with was a complete replacement of my armrest with the dock built into it. It was designed in Blender3D. I used pictures of the sides, front, back, top, and bottom, of the original armrest to model the armrest in 3D. Once complete, I cut out space for a simple dock that holds the lightning cable and then designed a cover/door that holds a piece of glass. I split the armrest into printable sizes, then used WilliamAAdams idea thingiverse.com/thing:5867 to reconnect them. After the printing it in PLA, I assembled it, sprayed some parts black and wrapped it in some fabric using spray glue. I was surprised with the results, looks great.
