My grandpa gave me one of these shuttle toys in wood, many years ago. He called it a Do Nothing. You'd ask, "Why is it called a Do Nothing?" He'd start cranking it and asking you questions back:

Does it make your breakfast?
Does it make your bed for you?
Does it brush your teeth?
Does it do your homework?

That's why it's a Do Nothing.
