Description
Here is the unfolded LED lantern cube design with Open Source Hardware (OSHW) and RepRap logos that I was printing with PLA on tissue paper at this year's Maker Faire NYC 2012.
Instructions
1. Download the STL file.
2. Prepare a piece of tissue paper to print on as per my Instructables project: instructables.com/id/3D-Printing-PLA-on-Tissue-Paper/
3. Print with PLA on tissue paper. PLA is preferred over ABS due to the minimal amount of thermal shrinkage as it cools.
4. Trim excess tissue paper.
5. Fold into cube, sliding the shorter length tabs into the longer length slots.
6. Insert a 5mm diameter LED in top and/or bottom.
7. Apply power
8. Repeat steps 2-7 as required.
Optional: Download the three OpenSCAD files into the same subdirectory, open "unfolded_cube.scad" and re-parametrize the model as you see fit.
