We're excited and proud to launch Thingiverse Apps. Learn More about what this means to you.
This is an open-source platform project for creating your own Kindle (basic 4gen) back cover. Read more on our website http://skrekkogle.com/#cover1 , longer blogpost: http://skrekkogle.tumblr.com/post/34636671302/after-getting-our-first-3d-printer-wem and check out the "How-to": http://skrekkogle.com/coverhowto.html.
If you make your own, it would be super cool if you'd send us a picture of the result!
UPDATE: Front cover for basic Kindle 4gen now also available! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:34449
DISCLAIMER: We would like to emphasize that we do not take any responsibility for loss of warranties or broken products as a result of removing and replacing covers and shells. Different 3d printing technologies, software settings, and build setups, may produce differences in dimensions, which could in turn result in snap hooks damaging exposed electronics. We broke two readers ourselves, one with a too long snap hook, and one when forgetting to remove broken hooks from an earlier test. Please don't hesitate to leave questions in the comment field and we'll try to answer them as good as possible!

So what's this mean?
We're sure skrekkogle would love to see what you've printed - take a photo and share it on Thingiverse as a Make.
To post a Make simply visit this Thing again and click I Made One to start uploading your photo. You can also download the Thingiverse Mobile app (available via Google Play and Apple App Store) to take a photo and upload your Make right from the app!
