Makerbot 'M' logo spool holder (for skinny hole + wider spools) by Nath Nov 8, 2012

Description

Makerbot spool holder for fatter/wider spools with skinnier 30-32mm centre holes and 90-100mm wide using the makerbot logo (why not? Complexity is free.. right?).

Didn't really base it on any of the existing spools - so I hope this is an original contribution.

I used the face off the logo from thingiverse.com/thing:4390 and the rest was via measuring up the normal spool and a bit of modification to make it strong enough via printing.

Cool.. Hope it works ok - I've been using mine for quite a while. Seems to be holding up ok.
Just what I needed for spools from 3D

I would flip it so it is lengthways on the bed and use raft+supports - add some extra in-fill from the default (as it is a structural part after all) - maybe 25 - 30%+.

I designed it for the filament from bilbyCNC.com.au that has approx 30mm holes and is approx 90mm wide.

Printed one - seems sturdy enough - pretty happy. Need to crank up the size of the "bumps" I put to stop the spool from sliding off as they're under the curve of the spool hole. Doesn't matter however as they're not necessary with the built in spacer at the end to keep the spool clear.
