Description
A ring that can be inscribed with a message in binary around the outer band. Very useful for "special" occasions.
This design was used to print the engagement ring for my then-girlfriend, but now-fiance. I can attest to the effectiveness of this design :) Several revisions were printed in several plastics from Shapeways. Frosted detail probably was the most impressive plastic version due to a slight transparency. White strong and flexible worked, but did not reproduce the engravings well. The silver print from Shapeways came out very well.

Instructions
1. Download the openscad file.
2. Change the "text1" and "text2" variables to match the message you wish to encode. I used roubaixinteractive.com/PlayGround/Binary_Conversion/Binary_To_Text.asp to perform the translation.
3. Render and print
4. Present for special occation.

Congatulations to you both! You seem to have used the same design as I used for my Fiancés ring (minus the binary message of course) putting me in the unfortunate position of having to tell someone that their custom made engagement ring isn't quite as unique as it was :p
I also ordered my final prototype in Shapeways sterling silver and the quality was excellent, even down to the embedded engraving text! If you are interested in going for gold (or stainless steel, brass, titanium etc.) for any future ring projects, i.materialise do "3d printed" items in a wider range of metals... I'm currently working on something cool with that in mind!
