Description

I wanted to replace my old extruder with something that would be more durable, so I decided to make one out of metal instead.

It takes 3mm filament, uses a geared nema17 motor, is spring operated so filament can easily be changed without using any tools, and it will most likely last longer than the printer itself.

Instructions

These parts are designed so they can be machined on a manual mill.

Create all the parts, and bolt them together, then enjoy something which does just work!

It should also work with a geared Nema14. They are smaller (and lighter), but the gearbox has the same mounting holes. They have a 6mm shaft instead of 8mm, though.

But where to get them? When I got my nema17 motors I had been searching for nema14's too, but found none that was easily available.
