Summary

My Dyson vac cleaner head brushes stopped spinning because the impeller cracked in half. Couldn't find a spare part anywhere, and didn't want to spend $150 on a new one. So drew it, printed it, fitted it and all good again. Dare say works better than the original ;)

Instructions

printed 0.2 and fine on UP mini, but I think quite forgiving. Position of shaft can be adjusted slightly (may need to be), but this is easy as is a press fit. Let me know if you have had this problem and I will "talk" you through it..

Excellent - I've used a version of this impeller as the heart of my WIP dust extraction system (scaled and with a slightly edited bore shape) :D

What impeller housing did you end up using? I need to make a blower, and this thing looks about the right size. I use only openscad, so complicated models like that are beyond my skill.

I wound up working on something else before I finished! I did get as far as http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:229657 but I don't think it's so suitable for a blower (I was after a sucker, so there are 6 outlets). As to complicated models, I take it you mean the impeller? I have a feeling that sort of thing is possible, although not easy in OpenSCAD. I have a feeling the hull() operator and a for-loop could be the answer!
