Featured Thing!

Description

A friend wanted a llama cookie cutter. I've included the Sketchup file if you want to make your own variation.

Update: The new version has been tested and printed by someone else. Delicious llamas for all!

Hmmm... Lemme try my OpenSCAD skills on this puppy...
Using slic3r v0.9.7 resulted in lots of tiny segments, and all those line joins led to poor corner quality. Is it possible to trace along the edge fully, like with a stretchlet?

The newer versions of skeinforge may have problems with this. I'm using 6/28/10 and it's saying the object is totally solid - not at all like the thingiverse preview pic!
I used the latest RepG v17 with the bundled Skeinforge to print this up... Maybe try printing it anyhow?
I tried using Carve/Unproven Mesh and that made it mostly hollow but there were still a few layers in the middle that were totally solid.

Blender shows a few non-manifold points in there. I think that's confusing skeinforge - newer versions seem to do less well than older versions at that sorta thing. Really wish he'd fix that...
Try it again. It worked for me straight off. I just ran it through NetFabb, so hopefully it's more printable now.
Much better!

Llamas for everyone!!
Yay!!! Please post a picture of your llama!
So I get home from work and fire up skeinforge and it gives me the same thing - solid object, 45+ minute print time.. Long story short: it makes it solid at my 0.28mm layer height profile but not my 0.32mm one - the one I mess with at work (where I am botless but mess with skeinforge anyway) just has a 0.32mm profile. Strange.

I'll upload a pic. (this is my first print with the Z wobble arrestor, BTW.. :) )
It's beautiful!!! Yay!!!
