Description

It was an idea from “Hardwarekiller".
He asked me to design a fan duct for a 50x50 cooling fan and with the possibility to mount an angel eye on it. To get an idea how about this could look like we found this fan duct: thingiverse.com/thing:17035

Instructions

I never had experience on printed parts before. So I had to learn a lot till I found a design that meets his wishes and is printable as well. And this is what came out and of course it is printable. We have printed it for several printers and they all work fine.
The angel eye can be bonded easily underneath the three foots.
The height is 30.7 mm. If you need another size feel free to ask for it. I then will create one more version.
For my Printrbot I designed a higher version with flattened circular duct to avoid collision to the x-carriage. But it requires to use my own designed x-carriage and extruder mount: thingiverse.com/thing:37009

I would love to see the Printrbot variant!

I uploaded the stl and an image of the fan duct (black) for a Printrbot. But as I mentioned before, you must know that it will not fit to the original extruder mount.
I printed it with my Printrbot but have not mounted it yet.

and now for 40mm fan please :)

Currently I'm cooking something up for 40mm fans. Basically it's a modified Greg carriage with fitting fan shroud and fan funnel that attaches to it.
I'll post it when I printed and tested it.

Oh, please no ;-)
The duct (interface between fan flange and concentric nozzle) was very difficult to draw and took me a long of time. Unfortunately it is not parametric so I would have to create it once more.
BTW. due to the falling pressure I wouldn't recommend a smaller fan.
