Description

Want to print out Emmett's awesome automatic Transmission? Frustrated because your printer isn't as awesomely calibrated as his? Try this FIRST!

Instructions

UPDATE : Emmett has updated his OpenSCAD file, increasing the tolerance on the brake surrounds, so this test is probably less relevent now! :-)

Pretty straightforward - this is a quick hack of Emmett's most-excellent automatic transmission OpenSCAD script to provide a quick and dirty way of testing the brake levers funcitonality.

Download, and edit the "tol" variable - Emmett's default value is .25, I was able to get functioning brakes with Slic3r 0.9.5 at .5

Larger values provide more room, so experiment away, and when you have a working number, plug it into Emmett's original script and print away knowing you have one less thing to worry about.

Now to figure out how to make that shaft work without taking my printer apart.... ;-)

Which of Emmett's files should we modify? I've been having this exact problem, but whenever I download transmission.scad all I get is the shaft, not the entire transmission or stands that I'd like to modify.

I've got everything else done and its killing me that it isn't complete yet.

Ugh, I'm an idiot. Would you mind throwing up the stands in a stand or stl file with the tol at .5?
