Impressive scan. And so handsome!

The print looks good too. Did they print it in the store, or did you do it at home? If home, which machine were you using?

At home on Replicator 2 in PLA.  Prints with MakerBot and ShapeShot logos on the back.  They will also print in store for you.  Will be fun to make near-life-size eventually.

Nice scan, wat software / hardware did you use to scan the portrait?

MakerBot has a 3D scanning booth in their retail store in Manhattan.  They give you three scans for $5.00 and upload them to your Thingiverse account.  The technology was supplied by a company called ShapeShot, http://www.shapeshot.comwww.shapeshot.com.  I met the CEO at the MakerBot store.
