Description

i broke some blades of my extruder fan with a hexnut wrench! - the awesome MBI support promised me to send one as soon as possible - in the meantime i designed a fan prothesis that can slide over the fan with the broken blades. i didn´t test it yet - but perhaps someone is more desperate than me!

Instructions

REPLICATOR 2 - 100% infill, high resolution - Printing time 15min. Get rid of the blades and slide the prothesis over the fan zylinder - smale pieces of the blades will help to fix it! (i guess)

can´t test it because i will wait for the replacement fan -

if it works - tell me! than i print some for the next accident like this!

P.S. The great support from MBI send me a new Fan last week - thanks for that! - now i could test it - it should work!

Printed with 20% innfill, 2 shells, 0.2mm layer height - stripped old blades, sanded it all a bit down with a small filler - and just snapped this one in place. I would say there is a 10-20% more noise and vibration - but nothing to write home about. Perfect emergency fix

Just did the same thing to my fan. I have a spare fan, but will print one of these for the broken one in case I break the spare. Thanks :)

Glad you like it!

Works like a charm on my Replicator 2. Thanks!
