Weeping Angel tree topper

Weeping Angel tree topper by cerberus333 Dec 13, 2012

Description

A tree topper angel with a Dr. Who twist

Note It does have a conical hole up the bottom
to accomodate a tree top branch.

I added a version without the conical hole
in case some want it as a 'solid'statue.
weepingAngel2.stl

I am submiting this as an entry into ProtoParadigm's Winter Wonderland Contest

Yeah looks like it.

Instructions

My initial print was 0% infill 2 shells 80mm/sec.
I am not happy with my results. I will try again at 40 mm/sec 1 shell 0% infill
will update with results.

I got better results at 40 mm/sec
230 degrees extruder
25 degrees heated bed
PLA
1 shell
0% infill
I wanted the hollow look. infill might be a good idea,
the head top sags in slightly at the 0% infill

I have printed two so far and have been having great fun freaking out my older sister. So far she has blinded one and tossed the other out the window. It's head and part of a wing came off so I stuck it back on with the head twisted slightly so it is staring at her.

*EEEEEEEEEEEEEE**THUNK*
I think she just found it staring at her in the kitchen...

This should come with a disclaimer...

Sweet. Thanks!

Hey Cerberus, did you see that Pacific Rim trailer yet? You seem like a giant monster movie kind of guy..

saw it after you mentioned it. looks pretty good.
I have been toying with making a gigantor model.
which is like the grand daddy of giant robots.

I had forgotten it was on my to-do list, and a tree topper

YES! I was hoping someone would make one of these.

So rad.

cerberus333 on Dec 13, 2012 said:

still to do, i want to make one of the really nasty ones.
as a tree topper i didn't think that would be ideal.
And this was a 'quickie'
