30 x 100 Spool Holder for Replicator 2 by whpthomas Dec 19, 2012

Description

I tried a few other 30 x 100 spool holder designs, but I wanted something that printed as a single part, was designed for the Replicator 2, made it easy to load and unload spools and held them securely in place.

UPDATE

If you are having problems with corners lifting, I have uploaded another version (wRafts) with tear-off ear rafts to increase the surface area and make it stick down better.

This spool holder was designed using an ACIS solid in Shark FX (sfx file included) so will behave well with Makerware, ReplicatorG and skeinforge.

Thank you, sir, this is great!
very nice spool holder :) thank you. Made one today :)
This is the best spool I've used. I like how the support underneath makes it feel solid. Great work. (2 shells, 30%infill, .3, PLA)

Instructions

I suggest printing with a 0.2 mm layer height, 2 extra shells and 20% infill.

Just printed this the other day. I used 3 shells and 20% infix. It works great.
many thanks for this~
This printed nice for me using your 300 micron profile (2 shells, 20% fill) though some of the shell strands on the bottom (of the holder, facing the build plate) are loose and unattached but I don't think that will be a structural problem. Thanks again for another great design to improve my rep2 experience. Your pinch roller feeder upgrade is the bomb!
Just printed this at 2 shell and 10 infil. It's exactly what we needed and works great.

(Used 25 grams of filament, took 1 hour 10 minutes.)
Hi Thomas, i tried printing this today but i cant seem to print it without it lifting on both sides

i used .3 layer 0 shell 10 infill i tried it with and without a raft at 220 and 235
I have uploaded another version with tear-off ear rafts to increase the surface area and make it stick down better. When ever I have problems with sides lifting I use these - give it a try and see if it helps.
