Description

A dock for the Samsung Galaxy S3.
(Cable and phone not included :p)

Based on Samsung Galaxy S3 model by ONoff.
thingiverse.com/thing:27428

Download the attached STL (sgs3 model mesh.stl) to make the attached SCAD file work.

Update:
uploaded V2 stl, this has a bigger space for the cable and prevents tipping over while pressing the screen. The phone is hold more firmly in this dock.

Note:
The phone fits only without case.

Note:
The cable fits very snug!
If you use some other cable, you should increse the width of the cable-guide-gutter.
That is the 'w'-variable in the scad-file, it can be found under the comment '//USB'.
(look at the cable on the photo, that's not the cable that comes with the phone)

Sliced with Slic3r, printed on a Printrbot Jr.
It took about 3 hours to print... Please be patient ;-)
2) Insert Cable in Phone
3) Insert Phone (front the top)
4) Get the Cable to go under the dock (so it comes out at the back)

in PLA, printed at 230degC on Makerbot Replicator2 with 5% infill and an extra shell, it's just too tight. The extra shell might contribute, also some contraction in the pla at that heat.

I'm going to try again with only 1 shell, it's probably a matter of 2mm each side where the phone sits.

I have printed with PLA at 180 degrees, 10% honeycomb infill, 2shells, printrbot jr.
You can also try to change the scad file a little.
At line 10 change: 1.02 to a bigger number
phone_groter = 1.02; //groter means bigger //#10

doesnt fit the S3 at all

I've tried both the 'sgs3 dock kabel' and 'sgs3 dock v2'. The phone fits nicely in both docks.
The phone is hold more firmly in the V2-version.

I have the international SGS3, I don't know if other SGS3-versions have different dimentions.
