PrintrBot Plus Illustrator, PDF, and SVG files by martinbogo Dec 27, 2012

Description

I wanted to make a printrbot plus using my own tools, but I found the the DXF file did not convert cleanly for cutting on my laser cutter.

This is a 32" x 18" layout of all the parts for the printrbot plus, all overlaps removed, and the colors set for vector cutting / engraving / rastering on a Universal Laser Cutter.

RED is vector
BLUE is vector engraving
BLACK is raster engraving

I have provided renders of the layout as Illustrator, PDF, and SVG. Use your favorite tool to adjust this layout to your own laser cutter and needs.

Does anyone have a BOM for the hardware?
I was wondering as they are not included in the files.
If you have to, sure. I recommend printing ABS ones, or going gung-ho and using aluminum ones.

However, if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Instructions

Assembly instructions are here:

Files were missing the Y-Bar piece, added to the file. Also, I've numbered some of the parts to match the numbers used in the dozuki assembly instructions.

There was an error on one piece, where the holes did not align. New files have been uploaded that correct this. I've left the old files up with the original date for archival reasons.

Martin,

You're the MAAAAN...

Thanks for doing this!

Please let me know the thickness of the sheet...
It has to be exactly 1/4" ... Some Baltic Birch plywood out there comes to that dimension, but check with calipers before purchasing. 6mm plywood is slightly too small.
After wasting 1 batch of acrylic ... i found that 6 mm works best... but it has to be 6 mm without paper. I also found that there is issue with one part of x axis. will share updated file soon.
What is the issue with the part of the X-Axis? I've test built this, and it assembled well.
look at parts just below part # 230 .. ones with two square holes...these should be identical. X-Axis right side assembly is not fitting well...
Yep, I see it. It crept in during one of my edit sessions. The question is then .. is the one on _TOP_ correct, or the one on the _BOTTOM_? I can copy it, fix, and post the updated files in a few minutes once I know that.
Top 1 is correct ...
Corrected. I've uploaded new files.

Thanks M ... i found one more issue.. there is rectangular hole missing from Y belt adapter.
Hey, sorry to take so long to get back to you on the issue. Which part is the Y-Belt adapter?
I know this is probably a really numpty question but do you have a file converted to metric. I am trying to cut this out on equipment in our school (UK) and our network throws a fit whenever i try and run any of the CAD software we have to convert the files. Our laserscript seems to only recognise metric .DXF files and tries to cut this the size of a small house. Thank you Dave
Sorry, I'm afraid I don't have this in any other dimension than the one that abdrumm made.
