Description
A tab a slot generator. to add tabs to one object and a slot and groove to another object that the tabs will fit into and lock.
so without further ado have at it, I will see you all in the new year
UPDATE: New version made to correct a few errors that did some wierd things and add some comments to help with working out what the heck things do (always leave comments, they are your friend when you leave something for a few weeks)

Instructions
include this module into openscad project
use the tabs module to add tabs (union) and the slots module to cut grooves for the tabes to fit in (difference)
current itteration needs to be translated to correct depth depending on how far in you want the grooves ect but its all trial and error to see what works best anyway so not included as yet.
many different settings to play with but be warned there is no failafes to stop you doing stupd things (like setting number of grooves to 4 and making it a 180 degree twist to lock)
Just make sure to set groove length always to a value smaller than 360/Number of grooves
oh and it can do just 1 tab but your thing won't stay together with less than 2 so I don't recomend it
