Description

inspired by, but not directly derivative of, this beautiful thing: thingiverse.com/thing:38722 I decided to make one that would fit my disk drives which sit and spin all day in a warm server closet. This is my first project working with OpenSCAD so it has few fancy features like rounded corners, but does automatically calculate the cooling hole placement based on the size you enter.

Instructions

For a standard WD external single disk case just download the stl and print. I printed with no extra shells and 10% infill. Then break off the hold down pads that keep it from warping up on the build plate and begin lowering the temperature of your disk drives. If you have a different size drive measure the case and update the inside_width and inside_length parameters in OpenSCAD and re-render.
