Description
I'm using some thumbscrews thingiverse.com/thing:13778 to make my makebot platform level, which works great. However, I just keep rotating the screws in wrong direction, especially whem I'm doing it with left hand. So, I modified the thumbscrew design a little bit. I replaced the symmetric teeth with two non symmetric shapes, so I can tell which direction to rotate simply by touching it.
Instructions
Just download orientable_thumbscrew.stl and print.
The tolerance of the nut slot is designed with respect to my makerbot. It could be too large if you have a insanely well calibrated 3D printed. In that case, you might need to scale the model a bit or edit the source file orientable_thumbscrew.skp directly.
I draw the model with Google Sketch Up, the source file orientable_thumbscrew.skp is available on this page.
