Hexagonal Card Game Caddy (Catan)
Description
A very simple card holder for our Catan obsession. We are constantly fighting card piles that are messy and driving my linear minded wife crazy.
Instructions
I created the box shape with boxmaker.rahulbotics.com, then tore it apart to make the design you see here. I added the dividers between the cards and added some vector art to the slots I borrowed from the web.
Design is for 4mm plywood. I used birch plywood with hardwood veneer from a big box home improvement store. $38 for 4 x 8' sheet. I can get two of these holders from a 12x24" pc. Call it $2.38 cents for two holders.
I did vector cuts at 100% power and 15% speed with a 50W ULS on honeycomb bed. took two passes to cut through. I cut twice to reduce charring and marking on the really light colour or the wood.
Etched was done at 85% power and 50% speed with resolution cranked right up to 1000PPI to make it as crisp as possible.
There is no glue used in the design except for the two end caps. I used Weldbond for this and 10 minutes later we were is business.
Feel free to modify or add/change vector graphics as your heart desires.
