Veo webcam housing for security
Description
After I had a theft of a Makergear superpack from my doorstep I decided to step up security the true Makerbot open source way! Now I wish the post office would pay for the lost goods already.
I had a really old Veo webcam laying around, took it apart and designed a small stealthy housing for it.
I then found some good old fashioned open source software from Dorgem and a tutorial.
Tut:

Dorgem:
dorgem.sourceforge.net/
Another alternative software with many more features, is Tebocam:
teboweb.com/WebCam.htm
Also my favorite software that I have found, Yawcam:
yawcam.com/
Also, i'm working on a printable pan and tilt for this webcam... it's not quite ready yet for upload.
Update 11/29/10: Now with smaller file sizes

Instructions

-Insert circuit board
-use some hot glue to hold things in place and seal the unit up.
-Put on the lens and add a dot of hot glue to keep it in place.
-Go through the tutorial and setup the cam and software.
-Prepare yourself to fight crime!
-Then stage camera and wait for the scum of society to come skulking about to trigger the camera.
-Take pictures to the police and hopefully catch the crook that has been stealing your packages!
-Feel satisfied justice has been served!
-Send the convicted felon makerbot goodies in federal prison. Maybe a Makerbottable shank?

My time is to valuable. It would be more cost affective to buy a IP webcam....

LOL... this must be my "special" pessimistic brother commenting on my thing! I can tell, because his lack of grasping the English language at a junior high level. Your time is worth $110 an hour? ...b/c that's how much your IP cam cost you.
For everyone else this took 50 mins to design and print, while I did other productive things.
You can't beat free solutions to problems!

Found another piece of free software that appears to have a lot more features than Dorgem and is still supported:
Tebocam
