A great project for the whole family.

This structure has 10mm wide hallways (enough room for incoming and outgoing traffic..) - The top center area has the entrance, the bottom-center area has a large chamber for the queen and her entourage..

Cut 2 square transparent Acrylics, 2 to 3mm thick at your favorite Laser Cutting service like Ponoko.com or use a simple Inkjet transparent sheets then glue them to their place (front and back).

Checkout YouTube for some simple tutorials on how to scoop Ants and their queen from the ground.. how to supply the colony water,moist dirt , food etc..


3D print it with ABS/PLA or with Laywood filament (can hold moister better?)

Use 0.2-0.3mm rigid layer height so the Ants legs can grab the walls easily..
