Mini Prusa i3 by Sound Jan 9, 2013

Description

I scaled the single-plate Prusa i3 down to make a printer that works with a 100x100x100mm volume and has limited footprint.

The mini-i3 extents are ~250x280x270mm. Frame is designed to be cut from 6mm aluminium.

Suitable heatbeds (100x100mm) can be bought here: http://www.emakershop.com/browse/listing?l=624

Download STL and DXF files at https://github.com/josefprusa/Prusa3/tree/master/mini

M8 threaded rods: 4x142mm, 2x284mm
M5 threaded rods: 2x205mm
M8 smooth rods: 2x222mm, 2x238mm, 2x252mm

The mini was developed at the Unterwelt lab in Rome, Italy.

guys, i have cutted sgraber's version, it cuts great on 6mm mdf.

The same problem. Is any way to fix it?
I am trying to build your mini I3, but strangely the left side of the wood cut dxf file is tilted a little to the right, so the holes for the screws are not aligned in a row. Should this be so?
Thanks for this fantastic Reprap!

When will the mini heated bed be available?
just out of curiosity, what are the rod lengths you used?
Hello, I added rod length to the item description. They are also measurable from the attached STL file.
I may have build one of these next! Though with Bowden thingiverse.com/thing:26817
Prusa i3 Direct Drive Bowden Extruder
Just in the middle of building the Nema17 motors seem to be lifting he frame off the desk. Also the Y Threaded rod does not sit correct. Does this design use normal size Nema 17 motors ?
Fixed was a fault with my Z on current printer causing a problem with prints.
Son of a gun, you beat me to it! LOL
Enjoy ;-D
Any chance you could commit the OpenSCAD files to the git repository?
No SCAD sources at all, I like to edit meshes...
Sound -- I always thought you just whistled the mesh changes into an acoustic coupler.
