We've taken the file for the Nokia Lumia 820 custom removable shell and optimized it to work with the MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer. It's an awesome shell that fits great!

To read more about this sweet file from Nokia.

For best results* print with the following settings in MakerBot MakerWare:

Layer Height = .2 mm
Infill = 10%
Shells = 1 total
*Files optimized for PLA.

Hi, I'm using rhino and cannot seem to remove material from the file to customise this, would anyone be able to help?

I may have to give that a try this weekend on my home printer.

Nice (and fast!) work!
On the transparent cover in the picture I see a honeycomb structure, but that doesn't seem to be present in the STL. Is this an imprint from the build table?
And did you print the overhangs/undercuts from the lip and buttons with normal PLA supports? Or dissolvable PVA?

Should print fine without supports. the overhangs arn't too bad and the button holes are all bridges.

Darn.. Those are some long bridges.. Kudos!

The honeycomb is the "fill". In MakerBot MakerWare, you can choose how dense the infill is.

Duh.. Of course they are..
Should have come up with that myself..
Looks very good!

Just a question: Since it is NC - i am not allowed to remix and sell the remixes, right? But if people remix the shell and then send them to me for print, that would be ok?

Yes, that would be fine.

Since this is a derivative (sorry - a "remix") and Nokia has posted their files as CC-by-nc-sa, the share-alike-part would require you to release the files under CC-by-nc-sa, too. Or does the thingiverse TOS allow you to use their files for any purpose regardless of the original license?

Good catch, fixed!
