Description

We've taken the file for the Nokia Lumia 820 custom removable shell and optimized it to work with the MakerBot Replicator 2 Desktop 3D Printer. It's an awesome shell that fits great!

Don't have a makerbot handy, do you guys mind giving this a try for me : ) http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

I may have to give that a try this weekend on my home printer.

You can find more information on this topic on the Nokia Developer wiki, http://www.developer.nokia.com.... We also have a discussion forum, http://www.developer.nokia.com....

Nice (and fast!) work!
On the transparent cover in the picture I see a honeycomb structure, but that doesn't seem to be present in the STL. Is this an imprint from the build table?
And did you print the overhangs/undercuts from the lip and buttons with normal PLA supports? Or dissolvable PVA?

Should print fine without supports. the overhangs arn't too bad and the button holes are all bridges.

The honeycomb is the "fill". In MakerBot MakerWare, you can choose how dense the infill is.

Just a question: Since it is NC - i am not allowed to remix and sell the remixes, right? But if people remix the shell and then send them to me for print, that would be ok?

Yes, that would be fine.

Since this is a derivative (sorry - a "remix") and Nokia has posted their files as CC-by-nc-sa, the share-alike-part would require you to release the files under CC-by-nc-sa, too. Or does the thingiverse TOS allow you to use their files for any purpose regardless of the original license?

Good catch, fixed!
