Description

A simulated tree. This is more in the fun with quasi-fractals genre. This prints more nicely than my original fractal tree thing:3373. No spaghetti is produced since each layer is a continuous path.

The "branches" and "leaves" are each 1.5 mm wide so they should print two strings of plastic thick.

See thing:4787 for .stl for roots similar to Zomboe's roots.

They make for great Z-stepper spinners!

This is such a nice model, and watching it print is even a pleasure, it goes around and around, and around, and around. Great.

Printed with Orange, gold, and two different Greens.

the multi-colored print looks great

This is awesome -- print it with a nice heavy raft and it makes a great coat hanger!

Now that I have put the idler wheel problem away with gobs of epoxy to hold it to it's bearing, I have fixed my makerbot.

Now it's printing! :) After waiting about 5mins to skeinforge. Inset took a ridiculous 3min 50secs to complete... not even sure what it's doing...

Dammit... My filament spindle decided to lock up just at the right moments (not). The filament wouldn't move so the extruder started to pull itself and the Z stage off the leadscrew nuts.

This tree is excellent! I really like that it fills such a large volume of space using so little filament.

While I was printing a second one my Z axis messed up and I had to abort the print. So I glued the half tree to the bottom of the first one I made. It makes pretty decent roots!

I like how it turned out. I will have to looking into a rev 3 that does what you printed and glued. :)

I'm stunned...Legen....wait for it....dary! This is totally awesome for every architectural model presentation.

That is very cool!

Interesting for architects and similar modelers

ohhh! I need green ABS!

printing this right now... this is a keeper. We are going to print this as a demo for our robotics EXPO in a month!!

please post a photo when you do. (and a link to the expo)

Wow, this looks cool. Im going to print it once I get my extruder up and running again (fix the darn idler wheel)

That's sexy.
