Race Car
Description
Students had to do a group project to create a multi-part toy using Solid Edge. Our prototyping process and tolerances were incorporated into the design process. This car was created by Harvey, Karl, and Keith.
Instructions
Printed on our Makerbot Replicator Dual using red and blue PLA, 190 extruder temp, 0 bed temp, .2 layer height
Wheels - 40% infill, 1 shell (4 needed)
Locks - 100% infill, 0 shells (4 needed)
Axels - 100% infill, 0 shells (4 needed)
Back - 40% infill, 1 shell
Engine - Support, 40% infill, 1 shell
Front - Support, 40% infill, 1 shell
Chair - Support, 40% infill, 1 shell
There is a .2 mm difference between holes and pegs for friction fit. There is a .5 mm difference between the wheel hole and the axle for a slightly looser fit to allow for rotation of the wheels about the axle.
