Use this holder to attach your mechanical endstop to the side of the extrusion holding the Y-rail.
Compatible with the kit sold by Maker's Tool Works and Trinitylabs.
This design ensures no travel is lost.

Put a T-nut in the side of the extrusion holding the Y-rail. Use a M5x10 screw.

Mount your endstop on the top side of the holder. The lever should go towards the extrusion, but it will work anyway.
Your endstop might need M2 screws and nuts. You can also use a zip tie: in that case make sure the "head" of the zip tie is on the underside.
