Description

This is a collapsible phone holder for a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It's base is intended to fit into the credit card holder located inside the dash compartment of my 2006 Scion xB. The whole unit can fold away into the compartment when not in use.

If you aren't lucky enough to have a Scion... it could very easily be VHB taped or velcro'd to any flat surface in your auto. If all else fails, it makes for a sturdy, adjustable stand.

Why would you put a non derivative license on this? This stops any one who would want to alter the design for mounting in a different car.
Cool design. I'm trying to print it now. A couple of requests: provide an STL for each of the individual parts - people may want to adjust their printer/postprocessor settings differently for each part. Also, if possible, please also provide the models in a solid model format such as STP or IGS so I can tweak them to my liking with Solidworks. :)

Assembly Notes:
There are 5 parts in the print. You will need to supply one 1/2"-5/8" long 4-40 screw & nut in order to assemble.

Thread the thumbscrew with the screw before assembly. The hole is a bit small and this process will likely require a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to get a good grip while threading.

It is also likely you will have to sand and/or shave some material off of the pin that connects the base to the lower clamp section. Do this slowly, it should be a tight fit. This tight fit ensures the stand will hold its position when on an angle.
