Thank you!!! :)
Any chance you could update the key before the movie premiers? I'd love to take the printed key to the movie (yeah I'm a geek). :P

we used this version as a prop for Halloween; looking forward to the original Weta model release from Microsoft and Warner Bros as part of the movie launch this weekend; http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2013/12/05/microsoft-warner-bros-offer-3d-printer-blueprint-for-the-hobbit-key-to-erebor-3dthursday-3dprinting/

FWIW, the Erebor key that's depicted in the movie has that square/rectangular piece actually attached to the key. It doesn't move: http://www.wetanz.com/the-key-to-erebor/

the new version will solve also that problem!

voilà!

Thank you!!! :)

Great! :D

MakerWare (v2.3.3.42) slicer doesn't create any support for the linked ring part. Any ideas on how to get it to do that?

I will upload a new version.

I finally figured out that I needed to create a custom slicing profile in MakerWare, and decrease the supportAngle setting to less than 45 degrees. The default of 68 degrees caused it to completely ignore the diamond shaped ring.

Thank you! :-)
