You can of course use it with whatever spoolholder you like.

Instructions
Print 2
press fit some m8 nuts (5/8ths)
thread one onto an m8 rod
toss on a spool of filament
Thread the other onto the rod and screw it down hard, clamping the spool in place.
Then I use a couple m8 nuts on the ends to make sure the whole thing has a fair bit of friction because I don't want the filament spool freewheeling and unwinding on me.
