did you print this on a FFF printer? or did you have shapeways or another service
make the print?
The ring on my hand picture is of a Shapeways Print in Stainless still. But I think a better print could be done by doing an inverse mold and using something like the bismuth alloys used in some some of the things on this site.
What I've found is the metal prints done by online printing groups are fine large but show very grainy at smaller sizes because of the heating required. They are super strong, but a bit lacking in resolution. I've done some really small detail prints with my replicator that hold up well against whatever printer they are using.
I posted this with the thought it could be a cool arm band or bracelet. You might be able to print it as a ring on a replicator, but if you can you qualify as a 3d printing Artist of the highest caliber in my opinion.
A beautifully hideous sculpture - incredible detail. HPL would love it.
It would go very well with your amazing Troll Statue (very large print) - any chance of re-uploading it? (We managed to print the head.)

Wow. There's some serious skill behind that ring. I think I'll have to play around with this and see how close to ring-sized I can print it and still get good surface details.
Thanks. Please do give it a shot. I'd be interested in seeing what can be done with it on several different printers. After trying to print the mini Planetary gears thing 10 times and finally scaling the thing up to get it to work, I realized I'm not up for printing super tiny just yet.
Keep me posted on how your printing goes.
