The front half of a Game Boy. UPDATE: Printed this, still need to make some adjustments. It's close though!

Update: Since so many people have expressed interest, I have uploaded my freecad file.

It is printed upside-down from how you see it here (i.e. face down). I had warping issues even so.

Inaccuracies/Things to fix:

  1. Start/Select button holes are not shaped/angled quite right
  2. Placement, height, strength issues on some screw pillars
  3. Placement of headphone jack cutout
  4. Edge fitment with bottom half
  5. Front cutout for bezel and depressions around buttons (cosmetic)

this ever come to be anything? really wanting to make a piboy with the original gameboy shell but dont want to buy one, would rather print it

Can you add in the bezel for the screen cover?

Dude, I created an account just to say keep it up! This is awesome. You'll be doing the chiptune community a big favour by getting this 100%!

Look what you did now! I have this urge to throw a raspberry pi in it with a game boy emulator... nasty.

you think it'd fit? also I wonder what display you would use to get close to the original's dimensions.

They have car backup screens on ebay that you can use for modding.....we do it on our modding forum :) (alot of ppl are eyeing this for completion)

i like!
do some more extreme casemodding

thinking about ways to do a frontlight without adding too much bulk.

Printed it out, still needs some tweaking...

I'd be very interested in pics, especially of the underside. How well did the bridging go? Did you turn on slicer supports?

FYI I also wanted to mention that grabcad has a couple of gameboy models, you might consider cross posting yours there as well when you get it finished.

I printed it upside down from how you see it here, there were some warping issues as well as minor placement issues on the screws and the start/select button holes.

I've been working on a classic GB housing too. What are you modeling in and are you going to post your design files?

Using freecad, I may upload the files once I know that it actually fits the GB hardware
