Description
For those of you who have a table lead that you don't have a place to store it.. How about the ceiling or the rafters?? So this "thingy" is designed to be mounted on the rafter or wall in series and then you hang your extra table leaf in it until the next holiday party you have needs the leaf!
Instructions
This is built in a series of 4 hangers. Each hanger has a hole for a screw.
Measure the width of the table leaf you need to hang and add an 2 inches (W+2 =n)
Measure the length of the table leaf you need to hang (L)
With the rafters horizontal to you, mount the 1st set of two n apart on the same rafter
Move down about 2 rafters or x distance (L/2=x)
Mount the next set n distance apart.
You may want to print and install several in series so that the weight of the leaf can be equally distributed.
Now you simply slip the edge of the leaf into the 1st set of hangers on one side, push up, and slide the lead into the second side and - its HUNG.
No more leaf sitting some place.
I have engineered these with extra support - but have not tested max load - so enjoy at your own risk.

So I built asset of 4 of these with a 20% fill and installed them with a 22 lb table leaf. while there is a little give/flex (7mm) on the ends this is holding very well and zero fatigue. I did put a bungee cord up as a backup. I think these would also work well if you had a sheets of plywood you wanted to store on the ceiling of your garage.. I'm thinking of building a stacked set with 2x screw holes so you could put several sheets of plywood and stash them on the ceiling of your basement or in the rafters..
