Alien figurine by mooses Feb 14, 2013

Description

*** I updated the pose to improve rogers balance and keep the head to bend back when using a vapor bath***

I was looking for some specific alien figurine to buy...unfortunately there are none available for some reason. So I made one myself.
Printed it on my my trusty solidoodle 2 with the 0.3mm profile in slic3r, modeled with Silo 2.

had to stop a 70% sized print due to the bum/but, printing it with supports now, will upload my results

I printer Roger at 50% with a couple of different plastics. Had a few issues with the lower butt area, but overall quite nice. Used a Replicator 2 at 100 microns. Right now doing a Roger with glow in the dark plastic.

I've printed Roger without support from small to big. It left a few strings at the bottom/butt. No visible marks left. Small = 3 cm high and biggest 20 cm tall both at 60 micron. Thanks for sharing. Been looking for Stan but I can't find him either.

Instructions

It's about 120mm in height. You'll nedd to use support structures, else there's just gonna be spaghetti on your print bed.
Scale down on your own risk, the neck and arms are already quite narrow.

Use artist tape to mask the eyes, then spray this sexy alien with some gray spray (e.g. montana Black "Mouse") then paint the pupil cavities with some black sharpie.
Tadaaa ;-)

great model, I am very tempted to have a go, but I never have much luck with support in slic3r

I used the most recent version of slic3r to print Roger and it worked perfectly. Have a go, it should work :-)

All that is left now, is for the various costumes.
