The idea is to make a printable tree topper. This part is just the base and all different tops to it could be printed as long as they fit over the cylinder at the top of the base.

Cylinder at top of mine has a radius of 1/8" (diameter is 1/4"). and a height of 5/16"

The overhangs print fine for me, but I'm still working on tuning my printer to print the top cylinder properly. Right now I have to trim it with a knife when it finishes printing.

No one actually entered a submission. I was hoping I'd be able to reach more people. I see the last contest was posted to the Thingiverse mailing list (fabric). My thought is next time I run one, I should do the same to encourage submissions.

I do plan to run another, I just haven't thought of what for. :)

Well, e-mail me through my website http://makerblock.commakerblock.com next time and I'll see about putting up a post on the MakerBot blog. :)

Hey, could you update the post of this thing with the specs of the cylinder (Diameter and height)? It'd be easier to hack if we knew what we had to put the thingy over top of... :-D

I added the dimensions as you asked. I've only made small things to mount off the top of it so far. If we try to make something bigger we may need to beef up the mount.
