Description

I just upgraded to a Nexus 4 so needed to upgrade my car mount as well. As well as the snap-fit phone holder, I added a customizable air-vent mount. These use the same M3 attachments as my Galaxy S car holder, so the phone holder / mount points are interchangeable with those (e.g. if you wanted to use the air vent mount with the snap-fit Galaxy S holder).

Instructions

Print out the two parts of the snap-fit phone holder and glue them together. The nexus4-main.stl has a cutout for a USB charge plug, so you will need to print it with support.

You'll also need to print a piece that attaches to your car. The air vent mount here is unlikely to exactly fit your air vents, but it's customizable so you can take some measurements off the vent slats and make one that fits your vehicle. It has some optional built-in support structures that you can pull off once printed.

Bolt the phone holder to the mount with two M3 bolts.

Should I glue the first (main) and the second part (sides) together?

Yep. I made them as two parts to give the best strength in the directions that need it.

Nice!

Is there a scad-File for nexus4-sides.stl?

Customizer only likes one scad file, and the nexus 4 specific bits were in another file that was ugly, with clashing variable names etc I was too ashamed to upload it :-))
