Update: I added a new version where i made the saddle the violin rests on is much better shaped for "my" violin. (Violin-bracket - v2.stl)

Well, if you give it a push it will swing, but it wont fall off. I have no children or cyclones in my house so it will stay put. :)
I'm not saying it's a bad design. I just also think that we can collaborate and make it even more awesome.
Someone needs something so his daughter can hang her violin while she plays the harp. Maybe on the music stand. This might be the ticket!
Does that stay? Looks frighteningly precarious. Most wall mounts I've seen grab the violin by the scroll at the top.

I would agree. My recommendation would be to add forks to the hanger portion, and make sure that it's not so precariously perched. I love the work with the bow holder though!

I like this a lot but there is NO way I would hang an instrument on it without something to hook in front of the scroll. I picture a devastated houseguest, a smashed violin and a lengthy court battle :)
Than this hanger is not for you. :)
My goal was a minimalistic hanger, this came out of it. I must agree it looks pretty fragile on the picture and even a blow of air would make it fall off. But, that isn't the case.
