Description

Customizable case for carrying cylindrical batteries. Requires small cylindrical magnets to hold the case closed.

For a version that doesn't require magnets, check out:
thingiverse.com/thing:57281

Instructions

Create a top and bottom piece (the sum of the heights of the two parts should be equal or slightly larger than the battery height, you can divide it up any way you want).

Press fit or glue the magnets into the columns between the batteries. Make sure they're oriented correctly or you can use a magnet on one side and a steel bearing or pin on the other. The minimum size that works with magnets is 2x2 batteries. You can generate carriers for other sizes (like 1x4), but there won't be a slot for the magnet.

for reference, here are some common battery heights:
AA - 50.5mm
AAA - 44.5mm
CR123A - 34.5mm
CR2 - 27mm

wow, a lot of good suggestions! Thanks! I added an option to use cube magnets, and the ability to write text on the lid and/or the base, since both were easy to do. Might get the other suggestions into a later update.

Too bad I have cubic magnets :D Any chance this gets customizable? These are 3mm fully cubic magnets.
Also it would be cool to have a loop somewhere on the side so I can put a string there and make sure it does not fall (hence, a magnet could be embedded in the protruding side loop and work for 1xN battery).
And finally, alternate cap (or text as some told) would make it easy to sort which battery pack is used or no.
Very nice print & picture btw :)

Woohoo! Way better than the one I would've made. Keep up the good work.

Nice use of magnets!

Hmm, would it make sense to instead just put magnets in the bottom to hold the batteries in? (placing the batteries nub-down)

Any chance of a customizable one with a slide fit lid rather than magnets?

Yeah, good suggestion! Check out http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
