Description

WOAH. MAKE. JOHN. JUMP. COOL. There's no shortage of four letter words (and a fair few 3 and 2 letter ones as well!) Share your favourite with the world with these customizable glasses.

Any ALL CAPS 1-4 letter word will do. I take no responsibility for offence you may cause.

These glasses are designed to snap together. The hinge may need a little bit of clean-up work to fold smoothly.

I have not printed a full pair yet, but others have. The photo shown is from Alzibiff (http://www.thingiverse.com/Alzibiff/designs). To reduce risk, I've printed and tested the hinge separately. I've included a test-piece consisting of just one hinge, so you can test that it works well before printing a whole pair of glasses.

I'm currently in the process of printing my first pair now. This has been delayed by my somewhat unreliable RepRap. Bear this in mind before you dive in and print anything. I'd love to hear feedback from someone with a better or more reliable printer than me.

Instructions

1. Customize.

Define the right and left hand frame letters. You must give 1 to 4 letters, and they must be ALL CAPS. Punctuation and other symbols may work - as always, preview before printing! If you want to shift where the letters appear, put a space character in (so a single S on the right would be defined as "   S" (3 spaces)

2. Print

The glasses will fit on a 14cm print bed if you rotate them by 45 degrees. You'll have to print the arms separately.

3. Snap together

The arms just snap into the glasses frame. You might need to clean it up a bit for smooth movement.
