Flower
Description
This is a stylized rose. Most of the walls are only 1.5 mm thick, so this thing does not use much plastic for its size. The print was made with flourescent red plastic.
p.s.: see Andr0id's modification of the flower to accept a flower stem and vase to go with this. see thing:6504.

Instructions
ANSYS users:
file: make_flower_110127c.mac creates a 1/8 sector model of the geometry, meshes it with SHELL43's and then converts it to an .stl file in ANSYS classic.
the above script calls file: ansys_2_stl_cyclic_101024a.mac which replicates the 1/8 element mesh to 360 degrees by copying it in cylindrical coordinate system 1 and writes it to an .stl file.
file: ansys_2_stl_cyclic_101024a.mac is different from ansys_2_stl_101012a.mac provided with thing:4421. ansys_2_stl_101012a.mac replicates partial models by reflecting them in rectangular coordinate system 0; while ansys_2_stl_cyclic_101024a.mac copies sectors in a cylindrical system.

I printed this design this weekend at #ordcamp and it was probably the most beautiful thing I printed. I love it and its going into my go-to prints roster. If you have any more designs in this family of manifold shapes, I would love to print them!
