I followed the instructions on the original and have several hours of successful prints w/ this mod. The only hacky part is the ball left at the end of the bearing post. Despite being a chamfer, you get a ball (roofing?). I cut this off and popped the bearing on and sealed the cover by briefly exposing the joint to a preheated nozzle.

Alternately, you could do a psudo filiment change somewhere after 82%, pop the bearing into place then unpause the job and it should build into negative space w/out issue.
