Description

Love 3d printing with your Thing-o-Matic, but wish there were a better way to see how your print is progressing? Well, today is your lucky day- if you've got a spare hobby servo (the one in the Unicorn works great), then you can make your very own progress gauge!

Instructions

To use this, you'll need a set of Gen4 electronics and the V2.7 firmware (which is coming soon, but you can get it now by building from source). After you generate a gcode file for your model, run it through the unicorn_progress_meter.py script, which will insert servo control messages to update the position of the servo arm as the build progresses.

Use your most 1337 papercraft skills to make a pretty gauge and indicator arm, and you're all set!

where do you plug the servo into?

I have Gen3 electronics. How can I get this working?? This is an amazing idea by the way!
