someone had posted that the obj file was a bit messy. so I deleted it, fixed it.... and then realized that thingiverse doesn't allow you to re-upload material. ... so... yeah. that's why. I'm just gonna post this up again, and have a link to the new one from this one. ugg.

Why is the STL not available here?
What possible advantage is there to forcing us to follow a link to DropBox?

I'm currently talking with a whole ton of people about printing it else where; I'll check out etsy, and I'll post any new information on this and on the shapeways.

This is an odd object file in that each piece is at a slightly different height and the overall product rather tiny. Once this was repaired I had a fair print with bases expanded to 20mm. 30mm would have been more to Chess dimensions though after placing them on an actual board.

IMHO it is best to wait 4 hours for the finished print than pay what was listed.

There may be a way to make a living doing 3D printing but this is not going to be it.

Nice looking set once printed though. Good work.

I'll look into the object file... the dimension have been a bit scewed i believe in the object file. To make an accurate chess piece... the total size should be 13cm x 14cm x 8.5cm (roughly)... Thanks for pointing out how they are at different heights! I was completely unaware, and I will make the changes asap.

While I'm not rushing into a living doing 3D design & printing (I'm currently majoring in software engineering), it would be nice to see my hobby bring me some money, or at least a chess set! :)

Yeah No. Sorry but in no way shape of form is that worth the price there.

Yeah, I'm looking to alternatives as to printing this out. I completely understand, as I myself would not pay such a large cost for a chess set; however it doesn't do me any harm to have it up for sale... while I attempt to find alternative distributors.
